The opportunity: An outstanding opportunity to join the Finance, Compliance and Operational Due Diligence Team at a Fund of Hedge Funds.

As part of its continued growth and development, a leading Fund of Hedge Funds, is seeking to employ a highly motivated junior financial controller.

The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation of monthly accounts for the group which comprises several global entities in a multi-corporate, multi-currency environment
  • Production of bank reconciliations, intercompany reconciliations, VAT returns, payroll, management reporting, variance analysis
  • Preparation of budgets and cash-flow forecasts
  • Compliance monitoring and returns; including the collation and submission of UK, EU and US regulatory filings, tax returns and other statutory filings
  • Liaising with auditors, tax and compliance consultants and UK & US financial regulators
  • Supporting the Operations & Middle Office team in the production of the Fund’s NAV
  • Assisting the investment team with desk based due diligence on potential hedge fund investments

Start: August 2016

Remuneration: £35,000 plus benefits including life and health insurance


To succeed in this application, you have:


  • An excellent academic record from a good university ideally majoring in a finance, accounting or science related subject
  • Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA). We may, depending on the quality of an individual candidate, also consider an exam finalist
  • Highly proficient in Excel and experience in accounting software
  • Numerate, with the ability to accurately manage data on a continual basis
  • Highly motivated, show creativity and exceptional problem-solving skills
  • Focused, strong attention to detail, ability to work independently and be highly organized
  • Ability to build and understand process flow in order to enhance processes
  • Flexibility and adaptability to liaise with different teams and assist your colleagues on other requirements
