In pictures: the CTA Intelligence European Awards 2016

Honouring the industry’s top performers and outstanding service providers

The co-founders of Aspect Capital were recognised with an outstanding achievement award at last night’s European Performance Awards as the $6bn CTA giant took home two gongs.

Aspect CEO Anthony Todd, and president and research director Martin Lueck (pictured below), and were honoured in front of 200 guests who gathered at Plaisterers’ Hall in The City to celebrate the top performing managers of the past year.

Managers were recognised and honoured across 21 categories, from newcomers and emerging managers, to specialists and industry powerhouses.

Aspect’s Diversified Programme won best risk-adjusted return over $500m and best managed futures Ucits fund, while Altiq picked up three awards, including best short-term trader.

Man AHL, a firm that had been co-founded by Lueck in 1987 before setting up Aspect in 1997, won CTA long-term performance over $500m for its AHL Evolution Programme.

Newcomer of the year went to Vivienne Investissement.

Arctic Blue Capital was named emerging management firm of the year, and Beach Horizon took home management firm of the year.

Earlier, service providers were recognised across 28 categories for the outstanding levels of client service, innovation and technological development, as well the talent and leadership that supports the CTA sector in Europe.

Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking was named best overall FCM and also collected the award for best capital introduction service.

SEI took home best administrator – overall, and best administrator – technology.

HedgeFacts won best middle and back office, and best valuation service.

Eurex was named best overall European exchange.
