The winners: HFM Asia Services Awards 2019

Eze Caste Integration and SS&C both double award winners

The top hedge fund service providers in the Asia Pacific region were yesterday honoured at an awards ceremony in Hong Kong.

Guests gathered at the prestigious JW Marriott hotel in the Admiralty area of the city for the annual HFM Asia Services Awards, hosted this year by veteran business journalist and broadcaster Lorraine Hahn.

Prime brokers, admins, technology providers, lawyers and other vendors were celebrated across 25 categories for their exceptional innovation, customer service and business performance over the past 12 months, which have been particularly testing for the region’s hedge funds.

“While funds have bounced back from a disappointing 2018 with solid returns this year, new challenges and potential risks to growth have emerged, notably the US-China trade war and the ongoing civil unrest here in Hong Kong,” said HFM editor Matt Smith.

“Such times underscore the need for exceptional and reliable service partners, who allow managers to focus on delivering the best risk-adjusted returns for their investors.

“These awards commend those firms who have done just that and have risen to both the opportunities and challenges of the past year.”

More than 50 firms were shortlisted for the awards, which were judged by an independent panel of COOs, CEOs and other executives at leading Asia-based hedge funds.

Among the awards’ success stories, Eze Caste Integration and SS&C were both double winners.

Morgan Stanley took the crown of best prime broker, while SS&C GlobeOp claimed the best large admin award.

Best auditor went to EY, and Simmons & Simmons was named best onshore law firm.

Congratulations to all the winners.
